Thuruthipuram, a small historic village is just 2km from Kottappuram Fort and historic Muziris market.
It is a border village between Ernakulam and Thrissur districts.
Being surrounded by the river on three sides,the place is famous for Thuruthipuram boat race.
The village is also well known for Latin Catholic classical art 'Chavittunadakam'.
The village is situated in Ernakulam district and can be accessed by Kottappuram- Thuruthipuram bridge from Kodungallur.

The parish was established in 1993 AD and was a part of Thuruthipuram St.Francis Assisi church, sharing a history from 1531 AD.
A new church was built and blessed on 27th October 2001 by Rt.Rev.Dr. Francis Kallarakal, Bishop of Kottapuram diocese in which the parish is located.
