Aripalam village situates in between two main roads, Thrissur-Kodungallur state highway (SH22) and Panvel-Edappally national highway (NH17).
It is 4 kms from Vellangallur junction on SH22 and nearest town is Irinjalakuda.
Even Aripalam is a small village now, it was a place of importance, as it was invaded by Tipu Sultan in late 1700s.
A certain group of Anglo-Indians lives here.

As Aripalam is well connected to Kodungallur, it can be considered as head quarters of Padroado Arch Bishops of Cranganore (Kodungallur) of Syro-Malabar Christians.
It has a history way back to that time.
The church and parish is established in 1883 A D.
It was part of Thrissur Diocese and now in Irinjalakuda Diocese.
