St.john Nepumcian Forane Church parappur is situated in 13 km away from Thrissur City, and at same distance off from the temple town Guruvayoor. By taking 7.5 km to Amala Nagar junction trom Thrissur and taking a left deviation for 5 km the church will be reached.
Festival of St. John Nepumcian Forane church is conducted at 4th week of November every year and is dedicated to St. Rosa and St. Sebastain. Also a small festival is celebrated on 2nd week of May in memory of St. John Nepumcian.
The church consists of 36 family units which sums up to 1400 families.

St.John Nepumcian Forane Church is one of the pridest churches in Thrissur archdiocese. The church was built on 1731 on the basis of Palayur church, which was founded by st.thomas on AD 52. The people of Parappur was struggling to participate church procedures,they had to go to Mattom Church which was across the Vadakanchery river.This made it essential for them to construct a new church on 1731.
The main festival is dedicated to St. Rosa, which is also known as 'THAMUKU THIRUNAL'. The church was upgraded to forane church on 1992. Ambakkad St Mary's church, Chittilappilly St.Rita church, Edakkalathur St. Mary church, Peruvallur St Antony Church and Ponnore Little Flower Church are the churches coming within St. John Nepumcian Forane.
