In today, the word 'Syrian Churches' stands for the churches who accept the East Syrian or Persian Churches, in principal, as the guiding force. These churches are more or less independent in nature and follow the Syrian or West Syrian Liturgy.
The major churches are
1. Jocobite Syrian Church
2. Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church
3. Marthoma Church
Also, it is to be noticed that the two catholic churches, 1. Syro Malabar Catholic Chuch, 2. Syro Malankara Catholic Churche, had good Syrian connection and are still following Syrian liturgies, but report to Pope.
